Setting Up Site Information for Google’s Knowledge Panel

This guide explains the Site Information settings, including the Person vs. Organization choice, logo, phone number, and description, and how they feed Google’s Knowledge Panel through Schema (structured data).

What Each Field Does

FieldPurpose
This Website RepresentsChoose Personal, Blog, Business, Organization, Community, or eCommerce. This is the single most important field. It decides whether your site is treated as a Person or an Organization in schema.
Organization Type (shown only when you select that the website represents “Business Website”)A more specific schema.org type, for example Corporation, LocalBusiness, or GovernmentOrganization.
Website Name (shown for Business Name/Community)The name Google should associate with your brand.
Owner/Person Name (shown for Personal/Blog)The name Google should associate with you as an individual.
Phone Number (optional, always shown)You can enter the personal or business contact number.
Describe What You DoA short description of the site or business. Has an “Improve with AI” option.
LogoRecommended 112x112px or larger, PNG or JPG. This is a recommendation only; nothing blocks saving a smaller image or leaving it blank.
