Using SureRank’s AI Content Suggestions During Onboarding (Improve Description Helper)

During the setup wizard, the Website Details step includes an “Improve with AI” button next to the business description field. It sends your typed description to an AI service and returns a rewritten, improved version.

This is currently the only AI-assisted content suggestion built into onboarding. There isn’t a separate AI suggestion step for titles, taglines, or categories.

Where You’ll See It

Onboarding wizard steps (in order): Welcome → (Import from other plugin, if detected) → Connect AI → Website Details → Social Profiles → Your Details → Finish.

On the Website Details step, under the “Describe what you do” textarea, there’s a small Improve with AI button (sparkle icon).

How It Works

1. Type a description of your business or site (at least 5 words).
2. Click Improve with AI. This sends your description, along with your website name and the business category you selected earlier in onboarding, to SureRank’s AI writing service.
3. The service returns a rewritten description, which replaces the text in the field. You can edit it further before continuing.

Before You Can Use It

• Connect AI first. The button won’t be active until you complete the Connect AI onboarding step. If you haven’t connected yet, hovering over the button shows “Connect with AI to improve this” with a Connect link. Clicking it starts the connection flow and automatically runs the improvement once you’re connected.
• Write at least 5 words. Otherwise, the button stays disabled and shows: “Please add at least 5 words to your description before improving.”

Important: Suggestions Are Generated in English

Right now, the onboarding wizard always requests the improved description in English, regardless of your site’s actual language or locale. If your site is in a different language and “Improve with AI” returns English text, that’s expected current behavior, not a bug. We’re aware this could be improved to match your site’s language, and it’s something we’re keeping in mind for future updates.

What This Feature Doesn’t Do

It doesn’t suggest site titles, taglines, categories, or per-page meta titles/descriptions during onboarding. AI-generated titles and descriptions for individual posts and pages are available separately, in the SEO editor popup and Home Page settings, and aren’t part of onboarding.

If You Run Into a Problem

If retries keep failing, double-check that you’ve completed the Connect AI step and that your site can reach external services normally. If the problem continues, reach out to SureRank support, and we’ll take a closer look.
