BreadcrumbList

Breadcrumbs help users (and search engines) understand the hierarchical position of the current page within your site. A BreadcrumbList schema is an ordered list of links that represent each level in the navigation path. Implementing it correctly improves usability and qualifies your pages for Google’s rich‑result features.

🔄 Update from Google (January 23, 2025):
Google has simplified how URLs appear in mobile search results. Breadcrumbs will no longer be shown on mobile across all regions and languages. However, they will still appear on desktop, and Google will continue to support breadcrumb markup. Read the official announcement.

Creating a BreadcrumbList Schema

Follow the steps below to add and configure the BreadcrumbList Schema using SureRank.

• Click on the Add Schema button.
• A popup will appear. From the dropdown menu, select BreadcrumbList Schema.
• Click on the Add Schema button to create the BreadcrumbList Schema.
• Once created, the BreadcrumbList Schema configuration page will appear, containing two tabs:
  • Properties
  • Display Conditions

This schema does not have any configurable fields

Display Conditions Tab

1. Display On: Select where you want the Breadcrumb Schema to be added. (Required field).
2. Do Not Display On: Define where the schema should not be applied.

Verifying the Schema

Once you have configured the schema, verify its correctness using one of the following tools:

• Schema Markup Validator
• Google Rich Results Test

This ensures your structured data is properly configured and eligible for rich results in search engines.
