Hey everyone 👋
If you’ve ever stared at a blank settings screen wondering where to even start or spent an afternoon manually recreating 200 redirect rules one row at a time, this release is going to make your day.
SureRank 1.7.4 and Premium 1.7.1 are out, and the focus this time was squarely on removing friction. The friction of getting started. The friction of managing redirects at scale. The friction of builder quirks and compatibility issues that slow you down mid-workflow.
You’ll notice improvements across onboarding, redirection workflows, multilingual link suggestions, and compatibility fixes for Bricks, Divi 5, SQLite, PHP 7.4, and more. Let’s get into it.
A big part of this release was improving everyday usability. Whether you are setting up SureRank for the first time, managing larger sites, or working with custom builders and multilingual content, this update removes a lot of friction from common workflows.
Let’s get into it.
The Two Biggest Updates in This Release
1) Guided Setup

Getting started with SEO plugins can often feel overwhelming, especially for users who are not sure which settings actually matter.
Most people either skip important steps or spend too much time trying to understand what should be configured first.
To make onboarding easier, SureRank Core now includes a guided setup experience inside Learn.
The new setup flow includes:
- A step-by-step checklist
- Chapter-based progress tracking
- Auto-detected task completions
- Structured guidance while configuring SureRank
Instead of presenting everything at once, SureRank now helps users move through setup in a clearer and more organized way.
As users complete different configuration steps, SureRank automatically tracks progress and updates the checklist accordingly. This makes onboarding feel less overwhelming and gives users a better sense of direction while setting up SEO on their site.
Why this matters
For new users, this significantly reduces setup confusion and shortens the time required to get SureRank properly configured.
For agencies and teams, it also helps create a more repeatable onboarding process across multiple websites and client projects.
This is one of the first steps toward making SureRank feel more guided and approachable without adding unnecessary complexity.
2) CSV Import for Redirections

Managing redirections manually works fine for smaller websites, but it quickly becomes repetitive on larger sites, migrations, or SEO cleanup projects.
To make this easier, SureRank Premium now supports CSV import for redirection rules directly inside Redirection Manager.
You can now:
- Import large sets of redirects at once
- Migrate redirects from other tools
- Bulk add redirection rules
- Handle URL restructuring more efficiently
- Reduce repetitive manual work during migrations
This is especially useful for agencies, publishers, and websites with large content libraries where redirects often need to be managed in batches.
Instead of creating rules one by one, teams can now prepare redirects in a spreadsheet and import them directly into SureRank.
The goal here was simple: reduce operational work and make redirection management much faster at scale.
Other Notable Improvements
Classic Editor Usability

We cleaned up the Classic Editor experience by moving the SureRank trigger into the sidebar under the Publish panel.
This creates a less cluttered editing experience while still keeping SureRank easily accessible during publishing workflows.
We also fixed the permalink redirect notice so it no longer appears on Classic Editor screens where it is not relevant.
Small UI improvements like these help reduce unnecessary distractions during content editing.
Smarter Multilingual Link Suggestions
Link Manager now scopes suggestions by post language.
Previously, multilingual websites could sometimes receive cross-language internal link suggestions that were not contextually useful for readers.
With this improvement, suggestions are now limited to the same language as the current post, resulting in more relevant internal linking recommendations.
This helps improve content organization and creates a cleaner experience for multilingual sites.
Better Bricks + ACF Handling
We improved ACF field extraction support inside Bricks for Link Manager.
Many Bricks websites rely heavily on custom fields for structured content, and this improvement helps SureRank better understand that content while generating link suggestions.
As a result, Link Manager can now generate more accurate suggestions when ACF-powered content is involved inside Bricks layouts.
Compatibility and Stability Fixes
This release also includes several fixes focused on performance, builder compatibility, and long-term stability.
Bricks Performance and Compatibility
We fixed an issue where the frontend meta variable hook could trigger a full Bricks render.
On certain query-loop pages, this behavior could lead to:
- Slow page loads
- Increased server usage
- 504 gateway timeout errors
SureRank now prevents unnecessary full renders in these scenarios, which improves stability and reduces load issues on affected websites.
We also fixed compatibility problems caused by renamed Bricks methods that could trigger additional 504 timeout issues on some pages.
Divi 5 Compatibility
Fixed an issue where the first Tabs tab inside Divi 5 could become hidden when Image SEO was enabled.
Sitemap Improvements
Resolved XML parse errors caused by unexpected output before the sitemap response.
This helps ensure sitemap responses remain valid and readable for search engines and external validation tools.
Schema Improvements
Event schema now outputs valid ISO 8601 datetime values.
This improves structured data accuracy and helps prevent validation issues in schema testing tools.
PHP 7.4 Compatibility
Fixed a parse error in the cache rebuild backup reader on PHP 7.4 environments.
SQLite Stability
Resolved the SQLite trigger “already exists” error that could occur during plugin re-activation.
Link Manager Navigation Cleanup
We also cleaned up Link Manager navigation behavior by:
- Removing Pro-only submenu items from the free plugin
- Improving submenu registration handling through Pro filters
This helps create a cleaner and more consistent admin experience.
A lot of these improvements came directly from real-world usage and community input, especially around builder compatibility, multilingual workflows, and large-site management.
More improvements are already on the way 👀
