Fix Warning: No H1 Heading Found on the Homepage in SureRank
When running the Site SEO Analysis in SureRank, you may see this warning message: No H1 heading found on the homepage.

What This Means
The H1 heading is the main title of a page. It helps search engines and visitors understand the primary topic of the page.
Every page should have exactly one H1 heading that describes its main purpose.
If your homepage doesn’t contain an H1 heading, search engines may not clearly understand what your site is about. This can reduce your SEO effectiveness and harm accessibility.
Why This Warning Appears
- Your homepage content does not include any H1 heading.
- Your theme or page builder may not be generating an H1 tag automatically.
- In some cases, all headings on the homepage are set to H2 or lower.
How to Fix the Issue
- Check your homepage content
- Open your homepage in the WordPress editor.
- Review the structure of your headings.
- Add an H1 heading
- Insert a Heading block.
- Set it to H1.
- Write a clear, descriptive title (e.g., “Welcome to [Your Website Name]”).
- Ensure only one H1 heading exists
- Avoid adding multiple H1 headings on the same page.
- Use H2, H3, H4 for subheadings instead.
- Check your theme or page builder
- Some WordPress themes automatically set the page title as an H1.
- If that’s the case, do not manually add another H1 heading.
- Re-run Site SEO Analysis
- After making changes, run the Site SEO Analysis again in SureRank.
- The warning should disappear.
Important Notes
- Use only one H1 heading per page for SEO best practices.
- Ensure the H1 text includes your main focus keyword where possible.
- Subheadings (H2–H6) should be used to organize content structure.
